Update on Condor Hero
Well a lot of crap and drama happened over the last year which caused the massive delay in episode 58. When it ended, all of our TLCers went missing or quit. So we were stuck for a few months there.
Now onto good news. We have found a reliable TLCer/translator and episode 58 is now ready for encode and future episodes can be worked on. However, we have some bad news. Our useless leader GJdan went missing and took the DVD sources with him and our encoder’s files were on a now dead HD (it’s been 9 months afterall).
So what that means is episode 58 can currently only be released using our workraw since that’s the only source I have, and future episodes will be tv rip/rmvb quality only? I don’t think our encoder will even touch that. If you know where to find the DVDs or track down GJdan, please let us know.
If all else fails, 58 will be released as is, and be the final DVD version we put out.
Edit- Actually episode 59 workraw was made before the meltdown, so we can release that DVD version as well albeit in the same format as 58.

Both myself and the translator know about that link however it does not ship to NA, where we both are situated.

I have never heard of Yesasia not shipping to North America.

Hmm, it does say that at the top. I wonder when that started… or maybe I just never ordered anything unshippable from them…

I’m stupid, of course, that was the global site.
Anyway, searching finds this.

http://dvd.jsdvd.com/product_info.php?products_id=22601 may be a better one since that link was just one disk.

If it’s only for one disc, why do both list runtime at 571 and the supposed one disc is for eps 53-78?

The price for that one is NT 269, which is about $9 US, and the weight is 200 grams. I doubt that a full set is going to cost $9 and weigh 200 grams. I’d imagine that the runtime and episode numbers are simply wrong–you can find plenty of listings even on American sites for DVDs that have badly copied information from another edition.
The one that seems to be the full set has a price of about $39 US, the picture clearly shows 13 DVDs, and the weight makes sense for that.
This is the Taiwan release and the listing only mentions Mandarin. Is the original language considered to be Mandarin or Cantonese? (Though I would imagine it would be possible to combine the audio from the low quality rmvb versions with the DVD video.)

On the other hand, I just did a search and it seems like the only versions they have are these two. If the $9 version was a single disk, you’d expect to see other disks from the series and you don’t.
I suppose the only way to know for sure is to email them and ask them.

Regarding the acquisition of raws, I know that some sites only ship to certain countries. So I was wondering if there was any kinds of mail/package forwarding business that work from, wherever they can ship to?
Examples:
NA: http://www.ship2me.com/
UK: https://www.forward2me.com/

The main problem is that nobody wants to fund paying for the DVDs, plus shipping (even more for forwarding services). GJdan was only able to get enough donations to pay off ~1/3rd of the total price, so he had to pay for the other 2/3rds out of his own pocket. This was back when we were more alive and actively subbing too.
So, basically, if GJdan or someone doesn’t show up with DVDISOs, we’re stuck with TV raws. They aren’t too bad quality-wise, but the hardsubbed mandarin subs are quite annoying: http://i.imgur.com/td1qe.png
